What is the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20L?
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20L is a laptop backpack designed for both everyday and photo carry. You can open it from the top with one hand or from either side through two weatherproof zips. Inside, folding dividers keep your gear in place instead of sliding to the bottom. The 20L size expands from 17L to 20L, and a 30L version is also available.
What stands out
- Three ways in. The MagLatch top opens with one hand. Two side zips let you reach gear without unpacking from the top.
- Room for a big laptop. The sleeve fits up to a 15-inch laptop or a 16-inch MacBook Pro, and a second sleeve holds up to a 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
- Flexible inside. Three FlexFold dividers make padded sections for cameras, lenses or everyday items.
- Built for travel days. It has stretch side pockets for a bottle, four tuck-away external straps, a luggage pass-through and three grab handles.
- Weatherproof and recycled. The shell is 100% recycled 400D nylon canvas.
Who is it for?
It suits people who carry a laptop plus a camera or other gear they need to grab quickly. Photographers who also work on the go, and commuters who want a tidy, weatherproof bag, will get the most out of it.
Skip it if you want the lightest bag possible. It weighs 4.43 lb with the dividers. It's also not a one-bag travel pack: at 20L, it's built for a workday, not a week of clothes.
Our take
The Everyday Backpack's strengths are access and organization. Side zips and adjustable dividers make sense if you carry cameras or a lot of small gear. If you only carry a laptop and a jacket, a simpler and lighter bag will do. It's premium-priced, though Peak Design's lifetime warranty helps justify that.
How we reviewed it: this review is based on Peak Design's published specifications and our own research. We haven't run long-term hands-on tests yet, and we'll update this page when we do. Specs checked on peakdesign.com in October 2026.
