What is the FlexiSpot E7?

The FlexiSpot E7 is an electric standing desk with two motors, one in each leg. You press a button to raise or lower it, so you can switch between sitting and standing during the day. FlexiSpot sells it as a frame or with a desktop in a range of sizes and finishes.

What stands out

  • Strong frame. It's rated for a 355 lb max static load, with a carbon steel base and upright-mounted motors.
  • Wide height range. The frame goes from 22.8 to 48.4 inches before you add a desktop.
  • Flexible sizing. The frame width adjusts from 43.4 to 74.8 inches and supports desktops 47.2 to 80 inches wide.
  • Useful keypad. It has memory presets, a child lock and a USB charging port.
  • Long warranty. FlexiSpot covers the frame, motor and electronics for 15 years.

Who is it for?

The E7 is for people who sit at a desk most of the day and want to stand for part of it. The high load rating suits setups with two or three monitors, monitor arms or a heavy desktop. The height range should work for most adults, both seated and standing.

It's not for you if you need a small, light desk you can move around easily. The frame alone weighs 66.8 lbs. If you're very tall or want extra leg room, look at the E7 Pro instead.

Our take

The E7 covers what matters in a standing desk: two motors, a high weight rating, presets and a long frame warranty. It costs more than single-motor desks, so it's worth it mainly if you'll use the capacity and height range. The E7 Pro is the upgrade if you want more capacity and room under the desk. For most home offices, the standard E7 looks like the sensible pick.
