What is the Elgato Key Light Air MK.2?

The Elgato Key Light Air MK.2 is a 15-inch LED panel light for your desk. It's the newer, brighter version of the Key Light Air. It puts out up to 2,100 lumens of soft light, clamps to the edge of your desk, and runs entirely on USB-C. Plug it into your computer for everyday calls, or use a power adapter or battery bank for more brightness.

What stands out

  • USB-C power. One cable from your computer is enough to get started. A 30 W or higher PD adapter unlocks full brightness.
  • Touch controls on the light. Change brightness and color temperature and save presets without opening an app.
  • Soft, accurate light. The panel is edge-lit, the color temperature goes from 2900 to 7000 K, and the CRI is above 94%.
  • Flexible mounting. It clamps to desks up to 6 cm thick, detaches from its stand, and has three 1/4-inch threads and a MagSafe ring.
  • Stream Deck support. Control it from any Stream Deck or the Elgato Control Center app.

Who is it for?

The Key Light Air MK.2 is for people on camera at a desk: remote workers, streamers and YouTubers whose room light is dim, uneven or coming from behind them. A good light often helps your image more than a new webcam.

Skip it if you film larger spaces or need a very bright, tall light. Elgato's full-size Key Light is brighter and has a taller stand. Also note that the power adapter isn't included.

Our take

On paper, this is the easiest Elgato light to live with at a desk. USB-C power and onboard controls remove the two hassles of older panels: a separate power brick and needing an app for every change. The main trade-off is brightness. Powered from a laptop, it's far dimmer than its 2,100-lumen peak, so plan on buying a 30 W PD adapter if your room is dark.

How we reviewed it: this review is based on Elgato's published specifications and our own research. We haven't run long-term hands-on tests yet, and we'll update this page when we do. Specs checked on elgato.com in October 2026.
