What is Submagic?

Submagic is an AI editor for short-form video. Upload a clip or start from a link, and it writes animated captions, lets you trim by deleting words in the transcript, and can clean the audio, cut silences and bad takes, add zooms and B-roll, and translate the captions. Exports are sized for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Paid plans are billed per member and draw from a monthly credit pool. Uploading a video costs 3 credits, and captions are included. Extra AI tools cost more credits on top. Starter is $19 per member a month for 45 credits, about 15 captioned videos, with clips up to 2 minutes. Pro is $39 for 120 credits, about 40 videos, with clips up to 5 minutes, Storyblocks media, auto zooms, silence and bad-take removal, clean audio, a brand kit, and social publishing. Business is $69 for 300 credits and adds 4K export, longer clips, and more API time. Yearly billing lowers those rates to about $12, $23, and $41 per member.

Who is Submagic best for?

Creators who publish talking-head clips and want captions, cuts, and social-ready exports without a traditional editor.

Our take

Submagic is a paid product. Paid plans start at $19/month. Its biggest strengths are captions are included with every upload and trim a video by editing the transcript; the main trade-off is that credits run out faster once you stack AI features.
